BIRMINGHAM, Alabama -- More than 400 vehicles are on display in downtown Birmingham this weekend, as the 2014 edition of the Alabama International Auto Show opened today.
The latest offerings from automakers in sedans, SUVs, trucks, hybrids and other models are being shown on two levels of the Birmingham Jefferson Convention Complex.
The show, put on by the Birmingham Automobile Dealers Association, is open today until 9 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Through October, vehicle sales at dealers in central Alabama were up 5 percent, compared to the first 10 months of 2012.
New sales were up 7 percent, while used sales were up 5 percent, according to the data from the dealers group.
The report covers a 21-county swath of the state, including Bibb, Blount, Calhoun, Cherokee, Chilton, Clay, Coosa, Cullman, Etowah, Fayette, Greene, Hale, Jefferson, Marion, Pickens, St. Clair, Shelby, Talladega, Tuscaloosa, Walker and Winston.
In October, the top new vehicle sold in the area was the Ford F-150 pickup, followed by the Toyota Camry, Nissan Altima, Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and Honda Accord.
Across the U.S., total U.S. light vehicle sales grew 10.6 percent in October.
